Conventional Standards (which are loosely complied) state:
Female connectors DB9, DB25, V.35 34 pin etc. present DCE wiring and the opposite male connector presents DTE wiring.
OEM specifications should always be checked for correct pinning, if none are available use proper test equipment such as a breakout box to determine pinning.
