Tool and Calibration Specialist
Reports to: Senior Warehouse and Logistics Manager
Job Summary:
The Tool and Calibration Specialist maintains the tool inventory and short-term rentals for the Network Deployment Services team while also managing the calibration schedule and records for applicable tools. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure teams are properly equipped. This is a full-time, in-office position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain inventory of CBM assets/tools as well as rentals.
- Update tool management database with asset status.
- Respond to requests for tools and test equipment.
- Interface regularly with field teams, finance teams, tool suppliers, rental companies, and calibration houses.
- Maintain and enforce calibration schedules.
- Maintain and update calibration paperwork and TL/ISO calibration procedures
- Schedule and track the shipment of tools to field personnel
- Keep the work area and tool room clean and organized
- Attend, and participate in, weekly scheduled conference calls.
- Work with minimum supervision in a warehouse and office environment.
- Meet or exceed customer and internally documented acceptable levels of quality.
- Work at the direction of the warehouse management staff
- Perform basic warehouse duties as requested
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Basic to Intermediate knowledge of hand and power tools
- Basic knowledge of telecommunications and electrical test equipment
- Skilled in using computers and basic application software used in warehouse operations.
- Skilled in both verbal and written communication.
- Skilled in following written and oral instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Ability to apply principles of logic to a wide range of intellectual, technical, and practical problems.
- Maintains physical stamina and strength required to move heavy equipment and products weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must excel at managing time effectively and multi-tasking.
- Demonstrates familiarity with all warehouse safety precautions and can observe these at all times.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to use and understand hand and power tools.
- Ability to use and understand telecommunications and electrical test equipment.
- Ability to read and comprehend calibration records.
- Ability to apply principles of logic and business thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Ability to formulate problems and solutions and present them to the affected employees in an effective manner while working in a team environment.
- Good communication skills are required.

Work Environment:
- The majority of the typical workday is spent in a warehouse/tool room.
- Time may also be spent meeting with supervisors in an office.
- Warehouse temperatures are variable and often uncontrolled unless the product being stored requires the
maintenance of a specific temperature.
- Adhere to proper use of PPE as conditions in the warehouse can be dangerous, as tasks involve the operation of material handling equipment.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Special Requirements:
- Due to the nature of our Customer’s requirements work schedules and hours of operation can be dynamic.
- Depending upon the nature of the work, the workers should take care of points such as cleanliness, punctuality, and safety codes.
